Kampung Pinunuakan is a village in the District of Beluran, Sabah. It is 89km away from Beluran Town, and will take about five hours by road to reach. There are approximately 1020 villagers living in across 312 homes in the village. There are two community halls, a kindergarten and a government health clinic in the village.
Currently, the villagers of Kampung Pinunuakan can only receive water supply from a small stream or by rain water harvesting. Water supplied from the river would do more harm than good to the villagers as the river is contaminated due to nearby oil plantations and farms.
This project aims to build a gravity water system for the village to ensure a clean and stable water supply for the villagers. The proposed intake site will be about 10km away from the village. Water supplied from the gravity feed system can also be distributed to two other villages namely Kampung Rumidi Baru and Kampung Sinaputan.
The funds required will be used to bear the following costs, which we have already identified as necessary for the project. In addition, every cent spent will be documented and at the end of the project, the financial report will be distributed to every supporter.
1. Water tanks
2. Poly pipes, poly sockets, poly elbows, poly tees, ball valves, clamp saddles, expansion tanks, gutters, reducers, cement, gravel, sand, tank stands and filtration system.
3. Transportation and logistics. As the village is deeply located in the interior of Sabah, transportation charges will cost a lot as we would require renting lorries to deliver the materials to the project site.
We promise to deliver the work within six weeks of receiving our funding. Our method of work always require the involvement of the local villagers as at the end of the day, the owners of the project will be the local villagers. As our team comprise professionals from all walks of life, the main goal is to transfer our knowlege so that villagers living far away from the city will have a better life.
Conducting any form of community service will be tough. We have had experience in building gravity feed system across more than 55 villages in Sabah and we have had to deal with suppliers who charge expensively, villagers who refuse to cooperate, political interference and etc. However, with our strong team, we have always succeeded in ensuring that our work will be beneficial to all. We usually sit down with our stakeholders and solve problems amicably in order to achieve what's best for everyone.
